Overview
Voice Notes AI helps users record audio, transcribe speech, and organize spoken information into structured notes. Audio, transcripts, summaries, tags, reminders, and other note details may be processed to provide the app experience.
Information users provide
The app may process recordings, imported audio, transcripts, note titles, categories, tags, tasks, reminder details, location-related note context, and support messages that users choose to provide.
How we collect audio
The app collects audio in two ways, and only when the user initiates it: (1) by recording through the device microphone when the user starts a recording, and (2) by importing an audio file the user explicitly chooses to bring into the app. The app does not record or listen in the background.
App and service data
Voice Notes AI may use app diagnostics, purchase status, device and app version information, and service logs to operate, debug, secure, and improve the product.
Third-party services
The app may rely on platform and service providers for app distribution, purchases, analytics, diagnostics, notifications, transcription, and AI processing. We share data with these providers only to operate the relevant feature, and we require them to provide a level of data protection at least equivalent to the protections described in this policy.
AI processing
To turn speech into text and generate note details such as titles, summaries, tasks, and tags, the app sends the relevant audio recording and its transcript to a third-party AI provider, OpenAI, solely to perform these features. Before any audio is sent for the first time, the app asks for the user's explicit consent and clearly states that audio and transcripts are sent to OpenAI; the user can decline, in which case no audio or transcript is shared. No account identity or personal identifiers — such as your name, email, account ID, contacts, or device identifiers — are attached to this content. OpenAI acts as a processor on our behalf under data-handling commitments that provide an equivalent level of protection; this content is not used to train AI models and is not retained by the provider after processing.
User control
Users can manage app permissions such as microphone, notifications, and related iOS settings from the device Settings app. Users can also contact support for privacy questions.
